Another Way Advisory Committee

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change
the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has." - Margaret Mead
Another Way is a volunteer organization led by employees of Inland Regional Center (IRC), one of 21 Regional Centers in California serving adults and children with developmental disabilities (with mental retardation, cerebral palsy, epilepsy or autism). IRC is the primary provider of services for about 24,000 developmentally disabled adults and children in Riverside and San Bernardino counties (known as the “Inland Empire”).
Another Way, an organization created in 1986 by a handful of dedicated IRC employees who began volunteering their time and money to raise funds and resources to meet a variety of critical needs for their developmentally disabled clients that could not be met by IRC or other community resources.
Since its modest beginnings 23 years ago, Another Way has become a leader and key advocate for the developmentally disabled community in the Inland Empire. Its volunteer members use their extensive knowledge of existing community resources to effectively break down barriers for families with developmentally disabled adults and children by linking them to services and programs that create a healthier environment for this underserved group and improve their overall quality of life by fostering independence and self-determination. Because we are not reliant on government funding, Another Way has the flexibility to find creative and unique ways in meeting the critical needs of our Inland Regional Center clients.
